Job Title: Musical Director - Westside Middle School
Reports To: Principal
DESCRIPTION:
Produce and direct one mainstage musical production a year during the spring semester.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collaborate with Vocal Music teacher to select, audition, cast and produce all aspects of the musical
- Create and maintain a rehearsal schedule
- Establish performance expectations, academic requirements
- Collaborate with coaching and teaching staff
- Establish communication with students and parents
- Manage parent and student volunteers
- Manage backstage, onstage, and front of house activities.
- Organize, plan, create and/or acquire:
- all publicity, ticketing and program materials - costume, hair, makeup, and properties - lighting and sound design and application - set design and construction - ticket and concession sales
- Any other duty necessary to the success of the production.
