Job Description: This is a full-time, 10-month Administrative Assistant position that will provide clerical and limited technical support to the Westside High School Technology Department (2/3’s of responsibilities).  This position will also provide clerical support for the Westside Community Schools Librarians (1/3 of responsibilities).   Responsibilities will be performed both at Westside High School (8701 Pacific) and the Westside Service Center (9437 J Street).  Mileage support (at standard rates) will be provided for travel between sites.
 
Performance Responsibilities and Job Tasks and requirements:
  • High school diploma or greater required.
  • Must be flexible and willing to positively adjust to ever changing environment.
  • Must work well with a variety of people (staff, students, and the general public).  
  • Good communication skills are essential.
  • Must be able to work precisely, accurately, and securely with data.
  • Must be able to work with or without supervision, follow directions, and complete work assignments according to schedules and procedures.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds on a continuous basis.
  • Computer help desk and/or customer-service experience is preferred.
  • Familiarity with the MacOS operating system is preferred, though training can be provided.
  • Willingness to learn basic computer-related skills and troubleshooting is expected.
  • Must be able to work independently and collaboratively as staff and students demonstrate/explain their computer hardware, software, and network problems.
  • Organization skills relevant to receiving requests for, creating, tracking, and processing multiple book/supply orders are a requirement. 
  • Attention to detail and good record keeping is essential.
  • Apple software and hardware certifications are not required for this position but obtaining them after hiring would be an advantage.

            $1/hr raise given upon completion and maintenance of certifications

            Access to online training material and guidance would be provided.

            Employee would be responsible for paying for certification testing but would be reimbursed

            for a test receiving a passing score.
