Custodial Manager
Position: Custodial Manager: Full Time - 12 months per year ~ Exempt
Supervised By: Director of Facilities
Education: High School diploma or equivalent
Experience: Five years in Janitorial Management Preferred

Salary: $53,000 to $57,000; Commensurate with Experience
Summary
Assist management in maintaining/improving cleanliness through inspections, training, and employee accountability, including employee counseling or disciplining, in a multi-location environment. Supervisors should have the capability to build upon established relationships and help develop subordinates on a continuous basis while maintaining productivity. Must have the capability to vary daily hours to effectively supervise day and evening shift employees.
Qualifications
Must be physically able to lift, lower, push and pull objects up to 75 lbs. unassisted. Ability to stand, climb, bend, stoop and crouch for extended periods of time. Must be able to initiate and maintain good customer and co-worker relationships in a team environment. Must have a valid Driver's License (CDL is a plus). Must have the ability to follow oral or written instructions and directions. Must have effective written and verbal communicate skills. Bi-lingual preferred (English and Spanish). Must have previous supervisory experience, demonstrated "quality customer service" skills, and good human relations skills. Must have previous experience interviewing employees for hire.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct daily inspections for work quality and safety. Make necessary corrections.
- Conduct employee interviews for hiring.
- Understand all employee work assignments and schedule for adequate coverage.
- Strive for high productivity from staff through staffing assignments and scheduling.
- Conduct orientation, training, and retraining of staff as necessary.
- Maintain effective business relationship with custodial staff and district employees.
- Enforce department policies, follow-up on daily assignments, and conduct counseling or disciplinary action.
- Manage special projects and on-call employees.
- Adequately account for building keys, radios, custodial equipment, and review time reporting on a daily basis.
- Ensure all projects, maintenance, or cleaning challenges are communicated effectively for resolution.
- Control supply inventories and distribute equipment effectively.
- Complete monthly employee performance evaluations and annual employee performance ratings.
- Supervise equipment performance and make necessary corrections.
- Observe and report the need of furniture or other building fixtures repairs.
- In case of emergency, assist the Emergency Operations Team.
- Coordinate work and staffing with the High School Building Manager as needed.
- Complete all other assigned tasks by management.
