Nutrition Services Assistant Manager - High School 10 Months

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage and direct a kitchen that includes:
- Management and supervision of kitchen staff .
- Ability to create and execute menus in accordance with current, NSBP and NSLP guidelines.
- Ability to prepare and present food that is both appealing and appetizing
- Proficient in computer skills
- Order product, manage all aspects of receiving, and maintain product inventory
- Be knowledgeable of safe food handling standards
- Time Management
- Knowledge and execution of all HACCP
- Provide direction and training of kitchen staff.
- Ability to work with school staff, students and community
- Supervise all student help as assigned to kitchen
- Completion of Daily Production Sheets and money records/deposits.
- Audit and collate production records
- Be able to carry cases of food, beverages, paper goods and prepared food
- Be able to use all kitchen equipment necessary for preparation of food
- Preparation of food and cleaning of kitchen and equipment
- Close and secure kitchen and equipment at end of the day
- Conflict resolution
- Other duties as may be assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
REQUIRED
- Ability to communicate well with others
- Ability to take direction from Supervisory Staff
- Knowledge and ability of cleaning kitchen and preparation of food
- Processing of paperwork regarding counting of breakfasts and lunches with use of technology
- Computer processing skills
- Experience in a food service environment
PREFERRED
- Knowledge and understanding of the Federal School Breakfast and Lunch Program requirements and regulations including:
- Offer vs. Serve
- Qualifications for a reimbursable meal
- Knowledge of portion sizes and proper kitchen procedures
- Knowledge of accounting systems
- College Degree or Equivalent years of professional experience
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: (ADA Compliance Regulations)
- Be able to lift boxes or containers weighing 40+ lbs.
- Be able to stand on feet to perform job responsibilities for and extended duration of time.
