Job Title: Westside High School Building Manager / Head Engineer
Description:
This person is responsible for the direct supervision of building engineers, custodians, swimming pool attendant, and inside/outside maintenance personnel. You will coordinate building staff to perform their roles during the day, and evening shifts. Responsible for: coordinating staff coverage for school activities; evening & weekend rentals; sporting events (inside/outside athletic events).
Requirements:
- Facilities management experience (5 year minimum)
- In-depth knowledge of building mechanical systems (5 year minimum)
- Operate building/energy management systems
- Backup power system operation
- Construction project management experience
- Coordinate preventative maintenance program
- Track work orders from conception to completion
- Work with vendors to perform replacement and service on equipment
- Provide direction on the assignment, operation, and servicing of all vehicles and equipment
- Coordinate snow removal plan when applicable
- Work with building administrative staff
- Ability to interact with staff, students, parents, visitors, etc.
- Must be able to comprehend blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals
- Familiarity with the maintenance and repair of artificial turf, and natural grass fields
- Knowledge of fire suppression systems, fire alarm systems, and coordinate the maintenance of these systems
- Coordinate fire inspections, and insurance inspections
- Coordinate the ordering, and delivery of custodial supplies
- Ability to lift, and carry up to 70lbs over a distance of at least 50’
- Must be able to climb ladders to a distance of 30’ or more
- Must be flexible, and willing to adjust quickly to the changing demands of a busy rural/urban school district
Education & Training:
- College graduate is preferred
- High School graduate is required
- City of Omaha Third Grade Engineer’s License
