POSITION: Head Boys Basketball Coach for the 2017-2018 School Year

DESCRIPTION: Responsible for overseeing the entire boys basketball program. To be able to teach/coach student athletes in the fundamentals, strategies, rules, leadership roles, that are needed for individual and team success in basketball. Expertise knowledge in scouting, game planning, practice planning, game coaching. Promote participation, self-confidence, building positive relationships with athletes, students, coaches & staff members, strong work ethic, and good sportsmanship in each student/assistant coach involved. Expected to develop offseason programs; such as, strength and conditioning, individual & team skill development & developing a relationships with youth programs.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIP: This position reports directly to the Athletic Director.

- Develop positive self image with athletics
- Utilize sound teaching methods to develop skills / techniques.
- Demonstrate public support / loyalty for coaches.
- Demonstrate positive team sportsmanship toward opponents and officials.
- Demonstrates effective management of pre-contest details.
- Other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director.
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:
- Work with parents and children of diverse cultural backgrounds.
- Develop effective working relationships with students, staff, and the school community.
- Perform duties with awareness of all District requirements and Board of Education policies.
