POSITION:             Swimming Pool Attendant (Category 3)

                               Full Time - 12 months per year

                               Approximate Shift Time:  Monday – Friday, 6:30AM – 3:00PM

 

SUPERVISED BY:    WHS Building Manager

                               Director of Building Services

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Nebraska Spa and Pool Operator’s License

Ability to:

  • Operate snow blower equipment and utilize a snow shovel for seasonal snow removal
  • Climb ladders to the height of 30 feet
  • Lift and carry 70 pounds to a distance of 50 feet
  • Work outdoors in a full range of weather conditions
  • Successfully work without supervision, follow directions and follow work assignments, follow work schedule and District procedures
  • Implement oral and written instructions, including but not limited to: cleaning schedules, work orders, setup instructions, product labels, chemical mixing and Safety Data Sheets (SDS)
  • Convey an attitude of respect, helpfulness, honesty, cooperation and teamwork
  • Interact and communicate with staff, students, co-workers and the public in a professional, respectful, courteous and positive manner
  • React promptly and effectively to multiple requests and changing demands as they may arise in the workplace
  • Perform skilled task in the repair of building fixtures and furniture when needed

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The following is a list of the essential job functions of the position.

  • Maintain pool filtration system and related equipment
  • Responsible for cleaning pool and related equipment at specific intervals to include: draining pool, clean pool basin, disassembly/assembly of pool filtration units and related equipment
  • Testing of pool water three times daily, maintain accurate and complete records of water testing, adjust pool water chemistry according to City/State codes
  • Maintain pool water chemicals and chemical feed pumps
  • Clean and disinfect pool locker rooms, pool deck and rest rooms daily
  • Security of the building: locking/unlocking, arming and dis-arming of alarm system
  • Responsible for the appearance, cleanliness and minor repair to all custodial equipment
  • Responsible for overall cleanliness and appearance of work areas
  • Assist with the setup and tear down of events and rental activities throughout the school
  • Snow removal of sidewalks and entry ways, mowing around perimeter of building, string trimming, general grounds cleanup on a daily basis when necessary
  • Other duties as assigned
