POSITION: Catering Assistant
DEPARTMENT: Access 66 Catering
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: HOURS: 4-6
POSITION: Catering Assistant
Multiple Tasks Include but not limited to:
- Food Preparation and service as directed by Access 66 Director of NS, Chef and culinary team of Access66.
- Loading and unloading of designated catering vehicles, driving catering or Nutrition Service vehicles, as well as general organization of vehicles.
- Dish Washing as required
- Cleaning of kitchen and equipment as required
- Caring Cases of food, beverages, paper goods, prepared foods.
- Ability to work with school staff, NS staff, Access 66 catering staff and students and community
- Caring, organization, disposal of equipment, records/paperwork, and items to be determined, as directed by the NS team, within office, kitchen, or storage facilities
- Follow direction of NS staff as needed.
- Serving food to students, staff, and to outside clients in the CCC
- Ability to work within designated timeframes given
- Perform major cleaning tasks such as vacuuming, wet-mopping, sweeping, dusting, emptying trash.
- Set up facilities for use at internal District 66 sites and external catering locations
- Submit all data and information as requested in a timely fashion.
QUALIFICATIONS:
REQUIRED
- Ability to communicate well with others; essential interpersonal skills
- Ability to take direction from the Management, Access 66 staff, and other Nutrition Services staff
- Knowledge and ability of cleaning kitchen and preparation of food
- Ability to lift 40-60lbs.
PREFERRED
- Experience in a food service environment
- Knowledge and understanding of the Federal School Breakfast and Lunch
- Program requirements and regulations including: Offer vs. Serve Qualifications for a reimbursable meal Knowledge of portion sizes and proper kitchen procedures
- Serve Safe Certified
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Be able to lift boxes or containers weighing up to 60 pounds.
- Ability to push/pull a minimum of 40 pounds regularly.
- Be able to stand on feet to perform job responsibilities.
- Be able to go up and down stairs frequently, as well as regular bending and standing as needed in a daily shift
